That was intended to be sarcasm - so many shareware/freeware programs have no/poor documentation.

I always write documentation (even if brief) - although this often slows release.
I have to do this, otherwise I forget what it does.

You can lock the contents while you are editing.
I am not sure if this stops others accessing it, or just modifying it.
