You don't need to have a split screen to see the original name. The original name is usually (always?) highlighted in the current window.
The point is, whether using a split screen or not, the user is usually focused on the prompt when a "file exists" confirmation appears. If the name is changing (not just the case) the copying of a different file over the target may go unnoticed, since the prompt shows the same name on both the source and target lines.
The v1.49 behavior of displaying the original name on the source line is far safer, since it is more likely to get one's attention when replacing a file with a different one.
And frankly, I'm a bit surprised by your attitude on this one Ian. Sure there are more significant ZEPs, but this simple change back to the v1.49 behavior adds a degree of safety, and well worth the (probably) minor coding change required.
