I guess PV has his own reasons to be so frustrated, probably having to
recompile/port a lot of code to the latest Windows incarnation and having some
re-writing to do. I don't really know... but I notice his OpenVMS roots.
On that platform, backward compatibility is almost guaranteed, so code written
decades ago for a VAX ports easily to Alpha or Itanium. Sadly, the platform is
fading away fast...
