I'm not so sure.
Ctrl-F7/F8 are Branch commands that work in the Tree window.
In a flat directory list, there is no obvious branch hierarchy to act on - besides, how would an implementation of Ctrl-F7/F8 differ from the existing (and more obvious) Ctrl-T/U ?

I think this needs a little more thought and discussion.
Would these proposed Alt-(Un)Tag commands available in the Tree window?
Would all files be tagged regardless of any active file Filter?
