How so? On NTFS, the last modification date of a directory shows when it was last changed; i.e. when last a file or directory was added to it or deleted from it.

But, according to MSDN:

The design and behavior of the FAT file system is different with regards to the modified time stamp. On a FAT file system, the modified date of a folder does not change if the contents of the folder change.
Do you work with FAT drives a lot?

I also noticed that a junction to another directory does not reflect the target directory’s dates, but has its own property. This makes sense, of course: the junction itself hasn’t been changed.
