All these file system related imponderabilities make these dates quite useless. I don't use fat that much anymore but it still exists (on sticks and flash drives) and there is also Novell netware, which may behave in yet another way. Therefore I would like to have the date column reflect *file* dates and not directory dates. This is of much more use (to me at least). Together with the option to show "youngest in branch" (via Alt+KByte) it would be very powerful.
