This is true - I'd vote for keeping 'Dir Alt-J' free for this purpose.

Very nice idea.
This would even allow to switch all three options in CO-2J at runtime (surely with screen redraw).
These are (citing ZTW.HLP chapter 3.7.2):
J Hide System/Hidden dirs and/or junctions
Set to "+SH" to hide System and Hidden directories.
Set to "+J" to hide junctions (reparse-points).
Set to "+SHJ" to hide S and H directories and junctions.
[Q] Should all three options be changeable at runtime?
I like the idea to use Alt+D for a Display options submenu.
Here a proposal how it could look like:
DISPLAY OPTIONS: (room for other settings)
HIDE DIRS: [H]idden (no ) [J]unctions (yes) [S]ystem (no )
Enter display option ?-+ OK F1 Help Esc Cancel F12 Reset
Opinions?
