I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this type of corruption. A user emailed me a Word document that he can't open. I can't open it either - Word says an error has occured. Open Office has a similar kind of meltdown.
The file was emailed to him. When I got hold of the original document he was emailed, I can open it. Comparing the two, the only difference is that the bad file has two bytes missing from the end, both nulls.
I can reproduce the corruption by forwarding the original email to myself via my iPad. My conclusion is that iOS is losing two bytes when it forwards the attachment.
I've had an increasing number of reports of this sort of thing recently, and I suspect it coincides with the release of iOS7.1.1.
Anyone else seen this?
