So basically, most files that can be previewed trigger the error?

...and can you now preview PDF files without errors? Or don't PDFs show at all?

The preview handlers seem to expect something the preview hosting component I use isn't providing, else it wouldn't crash so often.
I now see repainting problems in other preview handlers (though PDF Exchange's preview handler appears to work fine).
