[OT] Windows 10 - identifying the active window   [OT]

I just read this old posting about this, and have to agree with Martijn's comment that that solution of colouring the titlebars doesn't really solve the problem:

I tried it, and can't see the point, especially as Office 2013 continues to display its windows as before, making them look like they're never active.

For now, I'm putting it back how it was, and trying to learn to spot the subtle changes made when a window becomes active. Has anyone come up with a better solution since the above one was posted?
