How about an ADS (Alternate Data Streams) Ctrl-Search "option", to enable searching the tagged files PLUS their alternate data streams.

Also, a file ADS indicator (total ADS count) in the Alt-Info display, that is active when the option (above) is enabled.

This way, the "optional ADS" could contain large numbers of searchable "tags" -- but, to not decrease performance, the ADS would only be searched when required.
