I always thought asking about editors was a bit like asking Mac vs. PC or Playstation vs. X-Box, but anyway here's my opinion...

Being a fan of Brief back in the day I went with Crisp, which is basically an updated version of Brief (in that it's Brief compatible but modernised, rather than being directly related, hmmm, that sounds familiar from somewhere). If you haven't used Brief it might not be your thing, but Crisp does have huge amounts of power (combining a keystroke macro with pattern-matching multi-line search and replace is great, for the brave, even more so if it includes jumps between editing panes for either the same or different files ;-).
