I've got the Google Drive client running locally; that automatically synchronizes my online files with a local folder. That way, I can perform all comparisons locally — except for Google Docs files, which are just (deep) links to the online app.

Google Drive is not a LAN drive. Perhaps you could mount your Google Drive account as a WebDAV drive; I don't know if that's possible.
