Agreed.

Probably worth it, in spite of the effort to adjust existing macros.
Needs a Poll in this Forum ?

Agreed!  Me too.

Agree...

ZEP!  Me too.
To be precise: In Rename, F5 toggles the last two History lines before offering it in the Rename input line.
Should work as well on single-file New-Date.

Not quite easy, this Fn key shifting theme. I see some inconsistences in your 'shifting plans'.
So I wrote it down in a small table:

    Old        Fn key           Suggested
* NewDate | ^ Ctrl-NewDate :
* F2 Now F2 Override attributes NEW
*^ F3 Last = F3 Last
* F4 Timestamp type F4 Confirm NEW
* F5 Mode (set/adjust/^inc) F5 Previous NEW
F6 Now
F7 Timestamp type
F8 Mode (set/adjust/^inc)

* Rename | ^ Ctrl-Rename :
^ F2 Override attributes (unchanged)
*^ F3 Last "
^ F4 Confirm "
* F5 Previous "
LEGEND
F3 Last - always fetches last History line
F5 Previous - toggles last two History lines (swap in History)

I simply put the NewDate F6, F7, F8 behind the already-occupied F2..F5, in the same order as they were before.

John,
Is this in your sense?  Can you agree to this?
Do other Forum members agree to this?
(it's important for Kim to have precise specifications of new/changed behavior, and agreement from the Forum members)

Agreed - I should have said 'may perhaps be helpful'.

Yes, ZDate - I still use it in a batch. Also I often use F5 Adjust on a single file.
New to me is 'F5 Increment' on _tagged files.

Best regards,
Hartmut
