Sounds reasonable.

I must admit I haven’t tested it all that thoroughly; the few times I tried it worked correctly. Then again, my laptop probably isn’t the fastest either.

I’m not convinced that "Desktop" is an actual sub-process. I get the impression that Task Manager merely shows the window belonging to the process separately underneath it. When I check the same thing on my home laptop, Process Hacker only shows the ZSHELL64.EXE process, but its visible window is titled "Desktop":

(in that screenshot, black text means it's a visible window, gray text means it's an invisible window [or window element]).
