[Help!] Bizarre Windows Explorer behaviour - jumps to parent   [Help!]

Today I noticed some odd behaviour with Windows Explorer. If I open a particular folder, after a while it jumps to its parent. I've never seen this before, but a google search shows it's happened to other people.

Any of you seen it, or have any ideas how to fix it?

I'm using a Windows 10 PC, browsing to a folder on a mapped drive on a Windows 2003 server.

It does it for all the subfolders of the parent folder involved, but not other folders elsewhere on the drive. Sometimes it happens within a few seconds, sometimes it takes several minutes.

I was starting to wonder if my backspace key is playing up, but I just saw it do it simultaneously for two Explorer windows, so can't be that.
