[L] Local followed by 1 Tab gets you to LocalLow, and a second Tab to Roaming. This can become a habit fairly quickly.

[R] would be the only letter that makes sense. I think it would be more useful now to have [R] go to Roaming rather than Recent, but many may still be using it for Recent, so probably not a good idea to change it at this point.

And like you, I've ben using [R] in my Treespec History List for something else for years, and not willing to change it at this point.

There are unfortunately many new directories since XP. "C:\ProgramData" is one important one. This was "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users" in Win XP. But like Roaming, it can be reached with [P] Program Files followed by 2 Tabs (or 1 Tab in 32-bit Windows).
