These are marked entries in the history list. At some point you pressed the Insert key on that entry which keeps it from rolling off the list. Pressing the Insert key again on that entry will remove the mark. You can also press Ctrl-(letter/number) to mark an item so you can later retrieve it directly by pressing that letter or number. See help file section 3.6 'History Lists'.
