[ZEP] Quick Swap Commands   [ZEP]

Proposed "Quick Swap Commands" ...... There are three basic types... In order to avoid altering the current appearance and operation of the ZTW command menus, as much as possible... I suggest adding only a "F10", in the three, related menus. Then, when the F10 key is pressed, a Help screen will appear that: A) briefly explains the three, new Quick Swap Commands... B) displays a "QS|Off", or "QS|On" marker, to show which Quick Swap Commands are "OFF" or "ON"... and C) provides a "switch" to turn the QS On, or Off -- for each of the three Quick Swap Commands.

1). The first Quick Swap Command is used only in "View" (the Internal Viewer, at least) -- when F10 is set to QS|On ... This affects the Search-string History, such that Pressing only the S Key, will immediately retrieve the Previous "Search-string" History entry ... and repeatedly pressing only the S key will rapidly toggle between the Highlighting in View, of the two most recently recorded Search-strings in History.

2). The second Quick Swap Command is used only in either the File or Directory Window -- when F10 is set to QS|On... This affects the Filter History, such that Pressing only the F Key (except within the View menu) will immediately retrieve and apply the Previous Filter entry ... and repeatedly pressing only the F key will rapidly toggle between the two most recently recorded "Filter strings" in History... This will (of course) cause the File List displayed in the current File or Directory Window, to immediately update "as Filtered".

3). The third Quick Swap Command is used only in either the File or Directory Window -- when F10 is set to QS|On... This affects the Alt-Sort File menu, such that simply Pressing one of the keys indicated there, will immediately Sort, or re-sort (as often as desired, following each single key press), the File list. Whether QS is enabled, or not, the Highlight is (of course) maintained on the currently highlighted file, until another file is selected manually.
