While ZTW's help file and update instructions say it is not possible, I use ZTW for updating ZTW every time. It is a trivial procedure:

Extract the zeta archive to a temp folder using ZTW (Alt-F5)
Copy your ZTW key (ZTW.key) to the temp folder
Execute the new ZTW.exe in the temp folder (Alt-X)
Close the first instance of ZTW
Using the new instance of ZTW copy the updates to your normal ZTW folder
Using the new instance of ZTW make any other of your normal customizations
Execute the updated ZTW in your normal folder
Close the temp instance of ZTW and delete the temp folder

Although this may look complicated, it is simply running two instances of ZTW (from different source folders), to accomplish the update.
