From reading the Ztree help, I'd say: it it not possible.

\u2014 is the EM DASH Character — (it's a long dash)
(Tool tip: Babelmap https://www.babelstone.co.uk/Software/BabelMap.html)

So you could try to use a file filter containing that dash.
