I use a permanent ZLog file, which is specified on the command line, I refresh the ZLog file from time to time roughly monthly.

I have had crashes in the past, but not for some while now.

Here http://www.ztw3.com/forum/forum_entry.php?id=123408 is a thread, where DISK Statistics and ordinal issues where seen.

And this older thread http://www.ztw3.com/forum/forum_entry.php?id=122749 where a missing null byte was seen to be missing.

Do a Search top right for zlog and you will find a number of other posts.

Are you running the latest version? I'm running 2.4.204

I haven't seen that, but I rarely look at the ZTree memory usage.

As far as I know it's not publicly documented.

Having a look at my file, its something like this
Header
File spec for both split windows
Information about the logged drives with the highlighted object, seems to have fixed sized storage, but with length fields, so includes junk past the length indicator
Directory with metadata
files (display name, metadata, full name)
...
At the end what looks like a subset of the ZTW.HST contents
