[Discuss] Detecting non-ansi characters ??? [Discuss]

The program trying to process the file reported it as NON-ANSI.

As happens I have found the problem - the program that creates these files puts the file name and path in each file.

For some reason " -" (SPACE followed by DASH) in the filename (eg "fred - george") causes this error !!

Renameing it to "fred- george" fixes the problem.

Anyway - all fixed now :-)
