I cringe when I hear/see that "huge disks today" argument. Below is my reply to
Symantec's tech support for Norton Antivirus 2003 after he suggested that I move the contents (58mb!) of the temp dir its installation left behind to another location in case the program stopped working when I did.

"I would think that Symantec could design an install that would cleanup after itself without a user having to do what you suggest. Come on now, isn't 58mb of install files left behind (even .cab files and 2 sets of virus defs) to install a 13.3mb program ridiculous? Even if I had infinite disk space this kind of thing is lazy and unprofessional (even relative to Microsoft's low standards :) of programming."
