Yes, definitely!
I'm still using UltraEdit v.8.20+ (Aug. 2001) and configured it via
"Advanced / Configuration /Backup" to append the extension ".bak"
to the backup file. If I really overwrite "filename.zip" I find a
"filename.zip.bak" in UE's own backup directiry.

A possible solution would be to not append ".bak" but instead a self
counting extension like "000" to "999". But my old version of UE *cannot*
be configured to do that. May be its possible with newer versions.
I believe the current version is something like 10.x.
