This was brought up in thread: http://www.ztw3.com/forum/forum_entry.php?id=7410 but deserves it's own post, IMO, so we can be sure we understand it. Suppose the current dir is C:\JUNK, and I've just run C:\ZTW\ZTW.EXE, and want it to execute X.EXE via X or F9. I seem to remember (this was years ago) that the search for X.EXE in DOS/Windows has always been: 1. Try current dir (C:\JUNK, that's why I did a CD here, to get *my* version of X.EXE) 2. Then try the dir from which the request came (C:\ZTW; my tool has its proper version of X.EXE, and I want to override the one in the PATH somewhere) 3. Then search down the PATH, to get the "standard" version somewhere in C:\UTILS, say.
4. Then try %WINDIR% (This and #5 are last resorts). How badly off am I on this? It would be nice to document clearly this behaviour.
