In Response to: [Docs] [HELPFILE] incorrect description of RIGHT (Steve Rawling)

Indeed. I just researched this and it looks like I'm at fault. When I revamped the table in December 2002 it got changed from "Path down" to "Page down". Probably a typo. %-)

Would be better I think to say "Dir down", just like the Down description.

(Let's see, that's 3 years and 4 months before anyone noticed this. ;-)

Well Steve, you have now illustrated how difficult it is to get all the details correct.
The Help file is indeed wrong, but your description is also wrong. ;-)

If the current branch is a second or deeper level, then the Right arrow continues down, and does NOT stop at the last displayed directory of the current branch.

I think this is more accurate:

Left/Right arrows - Use the Left arrow to move the highlight up one level
within the current first-level branch.  Use the Right
arrow to move the highlight down one logged directory
                       within the current first-level branch.

As designed.

As designed.

Not if there are logged subdirectories of level 1. Otherwise, as designed.

It's true that the Left and Right actions are not consistent with each other. The consistency is with XTree, and the fact that Left and Right keep the highlight contained within the current first-level branch. Strong arguments for NOT changing this, in spite of Ben's and my preferences recently expressed.

> but there would be very little or nothing to gain by such a change,

Indeed. ;-)

> except maybe to give a better indication of what it function is.

A corrected Help file will give the best indication of what the function is.
