Heh, you assumed wrong(ly?). It used to be necessary to manually create a file doLocalConf.xml in the program folder to prevent it from using any user-specific paths and/or the registry, but nowadays the installer does that for you (based on a check box during installation).

On my USB office, I've UPXed it and all the plug-in DLLs, removed all non-essential files (i.e. documentation and such), and the branch there takes up 1.194.797 bytes (that's including all plug-ins) and still runs like a charm.
