I have been trying UltraEdit and it looks very good. What I can't find in it, and it is something I have been looking for for years, is the ability to automatically keep multiple generations of backups of a file as I edit it. For example, let's say I have logon.bat. When I edit and save it saves the backup as logon.001. The next time I edit logon.bat and save I get logon.002 and so on. Any ideas on how to get UltraEdit to do this, with macros I guess, or some other editor that does this as a standard feature. Andrew Watson | ||
