After a recommendation by Laurent many years ago, I have used PSPad exclusively since then.

It is a great freeware editor with many features.

It says it will process files of unlimited length but I have never had cause to check this out.

I saw that it was also mentioned a reply by Art.

Actually PSPad has a similar scenario to ZTree:

- Single author/creator - very responsive to bug fixes/feature requests.
He has added all the few requests that I have submitted, a couple of which were invaluable for me.

- A very active forum with a separate page each for:
General queries
Bug reports/fixes
New builds
