Actually, F5 does not swap the last two history items. ZTree internally remembers the previous name, even though it's not in history, and restores it. This has saved me a number of times after a mistake. This is a true "undo" function.
I've often wished for this ability on New date, since it's even easier to make this same mistake on a single-file New date. (Just '[N] [Enter]' and it's gone). At least with Rename you've got to first make a manual entry to change it. Not true with New date.

Yes, I see the inconsistency and agree with your proposal. Change both New date and Ctrl-New date F2, F4 and F5 to F6, F7 and F8, respectively.
