As far as I know, ZTree does not use the system tray in any way.
Many PC apps do, and all your smartphone apps (that matter to you) use
the "notifications" feature -- some apps even squeeze their status onto
the top status bar.

So, one way of letting the user know that a lengthy operation is still
in progress (while ZTree windows are hidden from view), could be to
animate its icon in the Systray: by flashing, running a counter, placing
a red dot on the icon... This is similar smartphone notifications.

I usually have three ZTree sessions active (black, blue, green), so I suppose,
I will have three icons in the systray. Yes, it's very crowded down there,
but there are ways to only select the info you care about.

I can also see the Taskbar with my three ZTree icons just sitting there.
I don't know how easy it is to animate those, but, maybe swapping the
icons is an option: ZTree could ship with two icons, the current one,
and another one (with a red dot or something) that would emerge when
the spinner starts. When the spinning stops, the old icon is restored.
Or maybe ZTree could superpose some pixels on those icons programmatically?

Personally, I'm happy with the way things are, but sometimes it's more
convenient to glance at the Systray/Taskbar areas and not stop what
you are doing in order to check if an operation has completed.
