But you wanted this to work like it did before! :-)

However, I do agree that a window resize (Alt-F7/F8/F9) should be an exception to the rule that *any* action other than a spell character resets the Active Spell Search.

There also appears to be a minor cosmetic bug. If the window is not split and you do Alt-F7/F8/F9, the search box disappears as if you did Shift-Esc. But if you then do F8 Split the box reappears, and after an F8 Unsplit it remains.

If we ask Kim to make this window-resize exception, let's be sure there are no other desired exceptions before he hacks into the code to change this again. The only other exception that makes sense to me would be F1 Help, which I think should go to Section 1.3.4, as it does in Prompted Mode Spell Search.
