According to http://www.unixtree.org/history.htm, there have been no changes since 2005. There are some more recent changes listed on sourceforge, but still only 2013. I also see a warning to make sure you close it before closing an SSH session.

I like the idea, but I feel it's better to stick with something more popular. I've been using Midnight Commander. Don't like it, but mostly because I keep forgetting how to use it.
