[Help!] Alt+compare shows differences I can't see [Help!]

When I alt+compare to volumes (on two servers), it tags some files as having different dates, when they look the same. Why?

This screenshot shows the result when I try to copy one file over its duplicate, showing what looks like identical name and date. I allowed it to overwrite, and now that file isn't being tagged as newer.
