I'm not an expert on GoogleDrive. AFAIK, roll back is per file.

Nothing beats an independent dedicated backup contingency plan.
I like Crashplan because it's unlimited (well, above 10Tb you may have warnings), encrypted, differential, backups can be organized per set with different settings and priorities for each, and restoration can be selective or global.
