I stumbled across the http://onecommander.com/ file manager,
which is very similiar to the one used on OSX -- very different
from ZTree and the commanders. It may be the only one like that
on Windows.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that it implements what I've been
wishing for for years: showing file age and coloring it!
Not only does OneCommander use an intuitive color spectrum, but the
words like 5d, 2m, 3y, 2h 15', 50'... appear in an age column, taking
just a few characters, but revealing so much without the user having
to think.
I've done something similar about two decade ago in my OpenVMS file
manager, and miss the "age" hint/column in ZTree.
(Of course, I would still like to color the date, size, etc., information
SEPARATELY from other parts of the file spec.)
