Many cheep SD cards and SSD's are fakes, that often over report the available storage and then do weird things when you use more than the real amount of storage.

Assuming there is no sensitive data, reformat it and ask for a refund.

The first thing to do when you get a flash storage device is to fill it with non-sensititive data and then verify the files are all as expected, and if not request a refund and leave a bad review.
