You're totally right.

I use #,_,! and others to avoid jumping to some seldom used items while using the 0-9A-Z keys. It's my way to avoid cycling through dozens of items that starts with a common letter like "C" ("Create X", "Create Y", "Compress somthing", "Configure that", etc.). Only the most commonly used items start with 0-9A-Z.

I realize that enabling jump with these unusal caracters won't change my way of doing things, so I withdraw my previous feeling.
