Thanks for the tip. Works as advertised, yet I'd still prefer that DejaVu fixed their official bold font. In fact, I suggested that they simply copied the regular block characters over to the bold face in the interim. Guess I could learn to do that myself on a lazier day, but haven't had one recently ;-)
