Last time I tried running without a licence (many years ago), after the 30(?) day trial, it displayed the expired trial notice for one second longer every day. You could run it for a year if you don't mind a few minutes wait each time you started it.

If it's still like that, I don't see much need to change it. That's plenty of time to try it.
